Phase-1 of Ola mega-factory to start within months
Construction at Ola’s colossal mega-factory on its 500-acre site got underway earlier this month. Last year, in December 2020, Ola announced an Rs2400 crore MoU with the Tamil Nadu government. The accession of land was made in January 2021.
With rapid processing of work, the company intends to start plant ops in the coming few months. With continuous improvement in the industry and manufacturing processes, it will prove to be one of the biggest and quickest transitions starting from scratch to production.
For this to be fulfilled, an estimate of more than 10 million man-hours is planned to finish building the factory in a set time.
Global markets of Ola Its prime goal is sustainability. The green belts are being conserved in the area by preserving and transplanting onsite trees.
Factory’s initial capacity is estimated to be 2M units a year in Phase 1. It will be Ola’s global manufacturing hub for electric scooter range and two-wheelers across India and other international markets.
Ola’s Industry 4.0 Principle It is expected to be powered by Ola’s proprietary Al Engine and tech stack. Once operational, the factory is expected to be India’s most famous automated. 5,000 robots and automated guided vehicles are expected to be pressed into service when ops become in full capacity.
