Indian Car Sales Analysis for FY2025

Over 43.2 Lakh Passenger Cars were sold in FY2025 (Apr' 24 - Mar '25), which grew by 2.5% over FY2024 and 11.3% compared to FY2023. This shall be the highest number of cars sold in a financial year in India, with domestic passenger vehicle sales reaching a record 4.32 million units.

Maruti Suzuki registered dispatches of over 17.6 Lakh units and could sustain >40% Market Share in FY2025. The volumes were flat over the previous FY and grew by 9.6% when compared to FY2023.
Hyundai volumes dropped below the 6 Lakh mark and recorded volumes of 5.98 Lakh units in FY2025 with a drop of 2.6% vs FY2024 and increased by 5.5% vs FY2023. Hyundai could sustain its second rank in the Indian market for FY'25 and had a 45k lead over third-in-line Tata Motors.
Tata Motors ranked third, with dispatches of over 5.53 Lakh units in FY2025. M&M was tailing Tata Motors very closely and was just 2,104 units behind! Both Tata and Mahindra ended up with 12.8% Market Share in FY2025.
Mahindra and Toyota were the OEMs that recorded the highest YoY growth and also gained the highest Market Share in FY2025.
