The total domestic tractor dispatches were 63,447 units in April 2021 against 85,098 units in March 2021. Tractor dispatches declined by 25.4 percent in Apr’21 when compared to March’21.
The second wave of Covid-19 has shaken the entire automobile industry and even tractors weren’t shielded from it. Covid has not only unsettled urban but also the rural markets this time around. A lot depends on monsoons and harvest this year to help the rural economy grow and positively impact tractor sales as well.
Mahindra & Mahindra recorded Domestic Wholesale dispatches of 26,130 units in April 2021, as against 29,817 units during March 2021. It anyhow recorded the highest Market Share gain in Apr'21 v/s Mar'21. Its Market Share rose to 41.08% in Apr’21 from 35.04% in Mar’21.
TAFE sales dropped 29.4% to 11,176 units in April 2021 from 15,830 units in March 2021 and was the second-best tractor manufacturer for the month. It recorded a Market Share of 17.6% in Apr’21 v/s 18.5% in Mar’21.
International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) saw an MoM decline of over 35% and registered dispatches of 7,122 units in April 2021 against 11,071 units in March 2021. Sonalika also saw one of the highest Market Share drops in April 2021.
John Deere overtook Escorts to emerge as the fourth biggest tractor OEM for April 2021. John Deere Market Share too shot up to 10.17% in April 2021 from 9.58% in March 2021.
Escorts sales dipped to 6,380 units in April 2021 from 11,730 units in March 2021. It was the highest MoM decline amongst all OEMs and it also lost the highest Market Share.
New Holland dispatches fell to 2,309 units in April 2021 from 3,345 units in March 2021.
Kubota, Indo Farm, VST and SDF were able to marginally increase their Market Share. While, Preet, Force, Captain and Ace lost Market Share in April 2021 v/s March 2021.
