Rockingham Motor Speedway Circuit, near Corby in Northamptonshire, is being used to store the vehicles, a lot of which are former hire and ex-lease vehicles.
Once was one of the most used racing tracks, but then racing on the track ended in 2018 and so the venue has now been turned into a logistics hub for the car industry.
The storage capacity of the 250-acre site, owned by Rockingham Automotive Limited, is for 50,000 vehicles.
For the moment, figures from the Society of Motors Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) appeared as UK’s used car market contracted by 14.9% in 2020.
It also exclaimed that Covid-19 lockdown measures and “turbulent consumer and business confidence” had shrunk vehicle sales.
