Tata Motors PV business registered domestic sales of 25,096 units in April 2021

Tata Motors registered sales of 25,096 units in April 2021 as against 29,655 units in March 2021 with a Month-on-Month volume decline of 15 percent. The OEM ranked third in the manufacturers' table and posted near to 9 percent Market Share in April 2021. Tata has been performing well in recent times with all the models in the portfolio faring well (source).

  • Nexon again emerged as the best-selling Tata car in April 2021. The compact SUV introduced in late 2017 gained a substantial facelift just over a year ago and has helped in keeping the model fresh in the competitive Sub-4m segment. Tata Nexon recorded sales of almost 7k units in April 2021 and the volumes fell 20 percent when compared to March 2021.

  • Tata's smallest car in the portfolio - Tiago ranked second with sales of around 6,656 units in April 2021. It registered almost a flat growth when compared to Mar'21.

  • Altroz slipped to the third spot in Tata's portfolio. It was lagging Tiago by just 7 units in April 2021. With sales of 6,649 units in April 2021, Tata Altroz became the second highest-selling Premium Hatchback for the month! It outsold Hyundai's i20 for the first time in its lifetime and was over 1.6k units ahead (source).

  • Tata Motors sold 3,226 units of the Safari and Harrier in April 2021, outselling MG Hector and Hector Plus which recorded sales of 2,147 units. Harrier & Safari duo are putting up a tough fight with the successful Hector twins (Hector & Hector+) and are able to outsell them in many months! In Apr’21 too; Tata’s Mid-SUV pair outsold MG Hector twins by almost 1,079 units!

  • The Tigor Compact Sedan recorded 1,627 units in Apr'21 as against 2,097 units during Mar'21 with a 22 percent decline.
