Two Wheeler dispatches crossed 13 Lakh units in June 2022 and was the highest monthly volume in the past 8 months! The improved volumes is a reflection of improving buyer sentiments and can be attributed to positive signs of monsoon, increased economic activity and fully opening up of educational institutions/offices.
The OEMs are also stacking up inventory for the upcoming festive season and enhance volumes accordingly. The two-wheeler industry is marching towards normalcy backed by revised fuel prices and the customer sentiments seems to be improving gradually as of now. The industry is hopeful of a complete revival in the festive season and if backed by decent monsoons this year the sales momentum may grow stronger.
“The timely arrival of monsoons has impacted the economic indicators favourably,” Atsushi Ogata, managing director, president & CEO, HMSI, said. “We expect the coming months to sustain this upward trend as more customers look for two-wheeler mobility options.”
Hero MotoCorp sold 4,63,210 units in June 2022 against 4,38,514 units in June 2021. Hero recorded the highest Market Share drop in June 2022.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India’s June 2022 sales was 3,55,565 units compared to the June 2021 sales of 2,12,453 units. It was also able to reduce its gap from Hero Motocorp and also increase its market share significantly.
TVS Motor Company registered sales of 1,93,090 units in June 2022 and recorded a increase from 1,45,413 units in June 2021 with growth of over 32%. The latest launch - 'Ronin' looks promising and shall strengthen TVS's market in India.
Bajaj Auto’s June 2022 domestic two-wheeler dispatches dipped by -19% to 1,25,083 vehicles compared to 1,55,640 two-wheelers sold in June 2021.
Okinawa & Ather figures have started reflecting in the reports since May 2022. Do note that Okinawa is already selling almost thrice of much established Piaggio. Also Ather volumes have rapidly shot up and looks promising with ever increasing network of the OEM.
