Škoda Kushaq official sketches revealed ahead of the global debut on March 18!

The Škoda Kushaq, Mid-Sized crossover SUV manufactured by the Czech automaker Škoda Auto for the Indian market will be premiered globally on 18 March 2021.

The name 'Kushaq' is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Kushak' which denotes 'King' or 'Emperor'.This indicates the strong emotional connect that Škoda wants to establish with the Indian Market.

  • Škoda Kushaq will feature 93 percent of localised content

  • Will come with two petrol engines

It will be slotted below the Karoq and based on the all-new MQB-A0 IN platform, specifically built to cater to the Indian requirements. Škoda Kushaq will be a in a 5-seater layout and will be a petrol-only offering with two engine options:

  • 1.0-litre TSI (115PS/200Nm) and 1.5-litre TSI (150PS/250Nm).

  • The smaller engine will get the choice of 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions while the more powerful engine will be offered with a 7-speed DSG automatic as well as a 6-speed MT.

The front design of the Kushaq highlights the two-part front headlights, signature wide grille and has the family front bumper with underride protection.

Rear Official Design Sketch

It shall have a wheelbase of 2651 mm. The top-end trims will feature LED headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs). We expect it will be equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), panoramic sunroof, and connected car tech. The safety features may include six airbags, electronic stability control, and hill hold control.


The rear design highlights the elongated roof spoiler and rear diffuser in the bumper. The taillight features trademark crystalline structures and ŠKODA lettering appears in block capitals on the tailgate.


Škoda Kushaq's rivals will be Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, Volkswagen Taigun and Mahindra Scorpio in the Indian market.
